Stellantis memproduksi mesin mobil berbahan bakar sintetik
Dapurpacu.com – The car manufacturer Stellantis is currently testing its 28 engine models that are supposed to run on synthetic fuel. The testing process covers the range of engines from 2014 to 2029, including gasoline and diesel. In creating the Carscoops page today, Wednesday April 26, 2023, Stellantis said that the adoption of efuels will allow combustion car owners to get rid of their cars without the need to convert to electric cars or upgrade the fuel.
The program will also enable the company to reduce emissions from the 28 million combustion vehicles built since 2014 in Europe. Using this synthetic fuel could also reduce CO2 emissions by 400 million tons between 2025 and 2050.
Stellantis’ commitment to using electric fuel in existing and future ICE vehicles will play an important role in achieving zero carbon emissions by 2038. Stellantis has also agreed to sell only battery-powered cars in Europe by the end of the decade.
“We are extending our efforts in our fight against global warming by experimenting with carbon neutral fuels as a complementary solution to our complete decarbonization. In the meantime, we are working hard to follow our fire plan,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.
Stellantis will also find efficient ways to manage the CO2 of the current 1.3 billion ICE vehicles. “We intend to give our customers another tool in the fight against global warming that can have an immediate impact,” Tavares said.
As part of its testing, Stellantis examines emissions, starting, engine power, reliability, durability, fuel pressure, fuel tanks, fuel lines and filters from existing engine bays. The efuel test is also inseparable from the European Union law forcing the sale of new thermal cars after 2035, as long as they run on synthetic fuel.
